Georgia Historical Society
Located in historic Hodgson Hall, the Research Center preserves an unparalleled collection of Georgia history, including more than 4 million manuscripts, 100,000 photographs, 30,000 architectural drawings, 15,000 rare and non-rare books, and thousands of maps, portraits, and artifacts.

The manuscript collection includes family papers, military records of every Georgia war, the papers of Georgia’s major political leaders, colonial account books, diaries, plantation records, papers of social and cultural organizations, and business records ranging from the 18th through the 20th century.
​
The periodical collection dates from the 18th and 19th centuries, and the visual material collection makes up an impressive collection of photographs and other images including portraits of many of Georgia’s most prominent leaders.
​
The Georgia Historical Society also serves as the branch repository for the Secretary of State’s Office.

Statesboro Regional Public Library
The Statesboro Regional Library has large collection of materials for those interested in researching a family history. There are approximately 7,000 books, magazines, bound periodicals, which includes an oral history collection, census records, family histories, court records, marriages, land records, will abstracts, Civil War records, and cemetery records to search. Included you will find county histories of the area and many church histories.

Zach S. Henderson Library,
Georgia Southern University
Zach S. Henderson Library’s Special Collections at Georgia Southern University is the home of the manuscript collection of the Bulloch County Historical Society and also a fully digitized collection of the Society’s quarterly newsletter, Rambling through Bulloch County.
​
The manuscript collection consists of various types of historical documents, such as photographs, business ledgers and account books, and files pertaining to the Society itself and its history. The digitized collection of the Society’s newsletters, from March 2005, is housed on Special Collections’ content management system.
