An Eternity Between the House and the Chicken Yard: Flannery O’Connor’s Georgia
How did Flannery O’Connor become one of the world’s most famous and celebrated southern literary icons? And why was it so important to O’Connor that she be a “regional writer” who so intentionally used Georgia as her backdrop for readers around the world? In this talk, Matt Bryant Cheney will help us understand O’Connor’s lasting legacy and her unique vision of the world she saw from the porch of Andalusia, her home in Milledgeville.
Matt Bryant Cheney is Assistant Professor of English and Editor of the Flannery O’Connor Review at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, GA.
