Jaeckel Hotel​
​
Gustave Jaeckel opened this hotel in 1905. William Jennings Bryan and Cornelius Vanderbilt were guests here. Blind Willie McTell performed here. The first floor had separate gentlemen's and ladies' parlors. Also on the first floor were the dining room and office. The second and third floors each had fourteen guest rooms. The hotel closed its doors in the late 1960's. The City of Statesboro purchased the hotel for $165,000 in 1994. The hotel is of a restrained neoclassical design.

This sign was restored in 2012 by the Bulloch County Historical Society supported by the Jack N. and Addie D. Averitt Foundation.
